Course Description:

In this segment of English IV, students will read canonical British and American texts that deal with the themes of leadership and government. The segment provides students with assignments that push their reading skills to the analytical level expected of English 12. At the same time, it provides an outlet for students to practice both informational/explanatory and creative writing to show understanding. An honors section of this segment is available that would allow students to demonstrate proficiency in these skills at a higher level and with more demanding texts.
