Life Management Skills

 

This course is all about you and the important decisions you make. It’s also about having the correct information before making those decisions. We’ll deal with real issues like nutrition, substance abuse, coping with stress, and sexual health. Good health is both mental and physical. Making good decisions starts with knowing the facts, understanding the consequences, and having the confidence to choose well. We’ll also offer some important tools for communicating your feelings and opinions. This is a course comes with a long-term payoff. The good decisions you make now will set a positive direction you can follow for a lifetime. This course requires a CPR certification course. If cost of the class or schedule is an issue, you may choose the alternative CPR assignment.

Fitness Lifestyle Design

 

This course was designed to offer three modules of motivation for teens. The modules—Move Strong, Live Well, and Eat Healthy—guide students through strength and endurance training, choosing lifetime fitness activities, and connecting nutrition to lifetime fitness. The course is filled with language and images that reflect strength and diversity to motivate teens and allow them to envision themselves committing to fitness. Discover habits of body and mind that will lead to a healthier lifestyle. You will measure your current fitness level and nutrition knowledge and create a plan for achieving your individual goals.

Personal Fitness

 

In this Personal Fitness course, students are required to participate in weekly cardiovascular, flexibility and strength and endurance activities. Students who are unable to participate in such physical exercises will be unable to complete the requirements of this course. The Personal Fitness course has a city motif. You will be visiting and touring the city of Wellville. Each building represents one of the modules in the Personal Fitness course. For example, you will visit the Welcome Center, Body Shop, Rec Center, and the Health Center to focus on the content in the specific modules of the course.

Personal Fitness

 

To keep our body and our mind running like finely tuned machines, we need to use the right fuel. For humans, that means nourishing our bodies with the right foods. In this course, you’ll explore how food affects essential aspects of your life from your weight to how you age to how well you think. You’ll also examine how outside influences- family, peers, and the media- can affect your diet and your perception of food and how to set yourself up for nutritional success.
