Welcome Out of State Students!
VTVLC online courses are available to out of state students. Students may enroll in VTVLC courses regardless of where they reside or what school they attend.
The Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative connects students with schools. Our goal is to overcome the three most common barriers that prevent students from taking the courses they want or need in schools. These barriers are availability of courses, accessibility to courses and the flexibility of your education. For example, are you interested in taking a course that is not available at your school? VTVLC finds the course you want to take from a Vermont school that offers that course online. Is there a course that you want to take at your school that you cannot access because you are required to take a different class during the same schedule time? VTVLC works with your school to give you access to the courses you want during a time that works for you by offering the course online. All courses offered by VTVLC online are accessible from anywhere, anytime. Whether you learn best at 1 am or 1 pm, at school or at home, your online courses are only a click away.
“Evan has been very happy with these courses, the mode of learning, and the help and enthusiasm of the teachers.
All of the instructors at VTVLC have been very helpful throughout the course. They have provided him with great feedback, and all have immediately responded whenever he’s had any questions.”
What can you do if you attend an out of state school?
1.) Ask for Support
Request that the school cover the cost of the course.
An increasing number of out of state schools are helping to support their students to enroll in VTVLC courses at a partial cost or no cost to the student.
Requests for covering the cost of enrollment can be submitted to your local school using the Authorization and Enrollment Fee Form.
Students are not enrolled until this authorization form is signed and received by VTVLC. Enrollments are on a space available, first-come, first-served basis.
We recommend contacting your school counselor to express interest in enrolling with VTVLC and how your school can support you in your online learning experience.
2.) Pay Out of Pocket
If your school is not willing to support the cost of enrollment for VTVLC courses, the parent or student has the option to pay out of pocket for VTVLC courses.
Please verify course selections with your local school to be sure they will accept the course credit. We supply a full syllabus in our course catalog, but are happy to supply any additional information your school may request.
To pay out of pocket, complete and return the Authorization and Enrollment Fee Form.
