What’s New at VTVLC for 2025–2026? Expanded Options for K–12 Students Across Vermont

by | Aug 7, 2025

At the Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative (VTVLC), we’re always working to expand educational access and flexibility for Vermont families. That’s why we’re excited to share some major updates for the 2025–2026 school year that open up even more pathways for online learning—from kindergarten all the way through high school graduation.

What’s Changing?

For the 2025–2026 school year, we’re expanding our offerings to provide both full-time and part-time online learning options for every grade level, K–12.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s new:

New in 2025–2026:

On-Demand Options for Grades K–12

Starting this fall, students in grades K–8 can enroll in on-demand (rolling-enrollment) classes with VTVLC. Whether your child needs just one subject or a full schedule, they can now complete coursework at their own pace, with the flexibility to start any time of year.

Options for Grades 5-8

  • Full-time traditional program with structured support, teacher-led lessons, live events, and more
  • Part-time or full-time customized pathways using a mix of on-demand and traditional classes

These changes give families the power to build learning experiences that fit their child’s goals, schedule, and learning style.

What’s Staying the Same?

We’re continuing to offer our trusted programs for high school students, including:

  • On-demand courses for grades 9–12 (start on the 1st or 15th of any month)
  • Traditional semester-based courses for grades 9–12
  • Full-time learning pathways for grades K–12, including our CDP program for students in non-operating towns
  • Curriculum leasing for schools and families who want to use VTVLC courses with their own educators

These options have helped thousands of Vermont students pursue AP courses, solve local scheduling conflicts, or explore passions through personalized learning—without needing to leave their home communities.

What Does This Mean for Families?

This year marks a major milestone: we now offer full-time and part-time online learning options for all grades, K–12.

Whether you’re a homeschool family looking for curriculum support, a student seeking a flexible learning schedule around extracurriculars, or a school administrator exploring ways to serve more students—VTVLC has an option that fits.
