Digital Media Productions

Introducing a fully online, customizable, and hands-on CTE program to Vermont.

The brand new online Digital Media Production program, offered by VTVLC through the River Valley Technical Center, presents students with a unique opportunity to delve into careers encompassing Digital Video, Audio Engineering, Photography, and image manipulation. Unlike traditional discussion-based theory classes, this program focuses on Career and Technical Education (CTE) in an online setting. What does this entail? Each enrolled student will have access to a MacBook Pro equipped with creative media software, as well as a mobile lab kit containing photography, videography, and audio engineering equipment for the duration of the course. All students need to bring to class is a willingness to learn and create.

We will begin registering for the 2024-2025 school year this spring! Sign up for updates and learn more about the course below!

Program Details

Students can customize their learning in order to explore the areas of digital media production that most interest them. Over the course of the program, students can choose between a variety of pathways: Digital Media Production 101, Digital Photography 101, Video Production 101, Advanced Photography, Visual Effects, Final Cut Effects, Corporate Video, Radio Production, Audio Post-Production, Field Recording, Podcasting 101, Photoshop for Photographers, Broadcast Journalism 101, and Digital Movie Making.

Online students will be encouraged to participate in statewide and nationwide leadership and skills competitions through SkillsUSA and the Future Business Leaders of America, where they can showcase their digital media skills and abilities. The Digital Media Production program embodies all the elements that students appreciate about CTE, with the added convenience and accessibility of an online format. This pilot program is poised to break down barriers to accessing CTE, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming your students to this dynamic learning experience!
